Track & Field Team
A Strong Start for Young Athletes
Our YMCA Track & Field Team welcomes kids ages 6 to 12 for a high-energy, inclusive introduction to classic athletic events. With training in sprinting, distance running, jumping, and throwing, this program helps kids build strength, speed, confidence, and coordination.
Whether your child is brand new to sports or looking to expand their skills, our experienced coaches tailor training to each age and ability level—making it a great fit for all.
What to Expect
- Comprehensive Skill Training: Learn sprints, hurdles, relays, distance runs, long jump, and shot put
- Age-Appropriate Coaching: Instruction is customized to ensure safety, fun, and proper technique
- Inclusive Team Environment: Athletes of all experience levels are welcome—no tryouts required
- Competition Opportunities: Participate in local track meets and YMCA events focused on personal growth and team spirit

Who Can Participate
- Ages: 6–12
- Experience: No prior track experience required
- Open to both YMCA members and non-members
- Must be ready to participate in group-based practices and events
